Police: Teen Suspect Shot Himself in Home Invasion

Police have arrested one of four suspects, a teenager who is thought to have shot himself in the foot, in an armed home invasion in Boston's North End.

According to Boston Police, the male suspects broke into an Endicott Street apartment - two armed with knives and another with a sawed-off shotgun.

When police responded around 12 a.m. Sunday, the suspects had already left with large bags allegedly full of marijuana. Police found that the suspect with the gun had apparently accidentally fired a round into the floor.

Witnesses saw the license plate of the getaway car and police learned 19-year-old Nikolas Angelesco of Somerville, Massachusetts, had driven himself to Cambridge Hospital with a gunshot wound in his foot. He is charged with armed robbery, home invasion and kidnapping.

The previously-padlocked room of the apartment that was ransacked still had several bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with a safe that had been kicked open, police believe. The apartment was frozen until police could get a search warrant.

The victim, who says she and her boyfriend have only been in the apartment for a week, said she did not know that room's tenant well.
