Police in Stoughton, Massachusetts, want to question the driver of a suspicious vehicle.
The man inside a white crossover with a distinctive rack in front claimed he was an Uber driver Thursday morning and repeatedly insisted a high school girl get inside his car at a bus stop near Island and Mill Streets.
She had just missed the bus.
"She did the right thing. She said 'no,' and he said 'get in,' she said 'no' again. He said 'get in, I'll take you to school,'" said Lt. John Bonney of Stoughton Police Department.
Police say they don't know what the man's intentions were.
"She acted appropriately and got out of there quickly and perhaps thwarted a dangerous situation," he said.
In a letter home to parents, the Stoughton High School principal says she's talked to the girl's parents.

"Though shaken up, the student is OK,"" according to the principal.
School officials are also asking parents to revisit safety talks with their kids.
Police say no crime has been committed and this wasn't an attempted kidnapping, but they want to talk to the driver.
