Rain, Snow Showers Continue to Clear as Sun Returns

After a gloomy morning around New England, rain and snow showers continue to pull away this afternoon as sun returns. Highs will reach the 30s and 40s.

The first half of Saturday night begins mostly clear, but in Southern New England clouds will return after midnight as lows bottom out in the 20s and 30s.

Those clouds will advance as an area of low pressure rides along an old front stalled offshore. It may get just close enough to bring a few snow showers to Cape Cod and the Islands early on Sunday morning. Otherwise the second half of the weekend will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the 30s and 40s.

Monday of next week is still cool, with highs in the 40s, as sunshine slowly hides behind increasing clouds.

That batch of clouds will run out ahead of a weak wave of low pressure passing by Tuesday into Wednesday. It will likely bring some rain showers, and perhaps a few wet snowflakes mixed it. Once it passes by New England it will intensify.

Finally during the middle to end of next week highs get back closer to normal, in the 50s.
