A quiet weather pattern is unfolding for New England this week, though we’ll see temperature swings along the way.
Monday morning saw the passage of a cold front across New England, turning the wind to blow from the north and ushering in new, cool, Canadian air that will take residence for a couple of days.
After highs in the 40s under clouds giving way to afternoon sun Monday, clear skies will allow temperatures to fall to the 20s and teens north overnight Monday night, setting Tuesday up as the coolest day of the next 10.
In fact, with highs only around 40 Tuesday and a steady breeze keeping the wind chill in the lower 30s, the air will be reminiscent of winter for a day.
By Wednesday, some moderation begins as temperatures rise into the 40s…and once a high pressure cell crests over New England Wednesday around midday, wind will shift to blow from the south, beginning a new feed of milder air.
Thursday will see temperatures rebounding through the 50s and both Friday and Saturday should near or exceed 60 degrees for at least Southern New England, though the chance of showers will increase with a series of disturbances nearby.
