Quincy Woman Arrested for Assault on Baby Who Later Died

A 27-year-old Quincy, Massachusetts, woman was arrested in connection to a February assault on a baby who later died, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.

Shu Feng Hsu, 27, of 34 Sewall St., was arrested at her home Thursday. Police had obtained a warrant for the charge of assault and battery on a child causing serious bodily injury.

Officials were called to the same address on Feb. 15 for medical assistance for 11-month old Chloe Chen, who also lived there along with her parents and others. Chloe Chen was transported to Boston Medical Center and died on Feb. 17.

"This investigation is not yet complete, but working with Quincy Police we have developed sufficient evidence for this charge to be brought and arraigned today," District Attorney Michael Morrissey said. "The investigation continues."

Hsu is currently being booked at the Quincy Police Headquarters. She is expected to be arraigned in the Quincy District Court before the end of Thursday.

It was not immediately clear if Hsu had an attorney.
