Red Sox Host World Series Gala at Fenway Park

The gala is a way to say thank you to the employees of each team that has made it to the World Series

Things are getting fancy at Fenway!

Ahead of Game 1 of the World Series, the Red Sox and Major League Baseball hosted the World Series Gala at Fenway Park Monday night.

"I have never been more excited in my life," Rachel Walter said.

The team says the gala is a chance to thank all the employees, both of the Red Sox and Dodgers, for all they did for their respective teams this year.

For example, the Red Sox flew in all of their scouts for the night.

Boston Police Commissioner William Gross says a security plan is in place for the World Series and that his team joined him in meeting with area colleges on Monday to discuss the operational plan.

"One thing that is good that is that we have been here three times before so we have learned to work together," Commissioner Gross said.

Not everyone made it in. Danielle Lawrence-Taylor drove down from her home in Maine on Monday. Lawrence-Taylor set up her chair Monday evening, preparing to wait for more than 24 hours for a chance to buy two tickets to Tuesday night's game.

"Let's just say I'm crazy," she said.

The Red Sox and team fans are getting ready.

"You are always nervous before any big game but we are excited there is a huge level of confidence," Sam Kennedy, President & CEO of the Red Sox, said Monday.
