    Religious Statues Destroyed in Dorchester

Police are looking for a person who smashed two religious statues in Dorchester. At this point, it's still unclear if there is any surveillance video available. (Published Sunday, June 2, 2019)

Someone smashed a statue of Jesus, busting it in half and breaking off its head, outside St. Mark Catholic Church in Dorchester.

In another incident, someone also grabbed a statue of the Virgin Mary from a nearby lawn and tossed it in the trash headfirst.

“As a priest, you give your life to these symbols of our faith, of Jesus and his mother,” said the Rev. Anthony Cusack, who found the broken Jesus statue Sunday morning. “To see that kind of blatant hostility — it’s unnerving.”
