New details are emerging in the investigation into Massachusetts State Senator Brian Joyce.
The Boston Globe reports that federal prosecutors are looking into the Democratic senator's involvement in a massive solar project at Stonehill College in Easton.
Documents show that Joyce represented the school and the company that recently installed solar panels at the college.
The project came as the senator pushed for legislation that would make it easier for clean energy projects.
Last week, FBI and IRS agents raided Joyce’s law office in Canton to conduct what a spokeswoman for the FBI's Boston office described as "court authorized activity in connection with an ongoing federal investigation."
The exact nature of the probe has not been revealed. Joyce's lawyer, Howard Cooper, said at the time of the raid that the senator was cooperating with law enforcement and believed he had done "absolutely nothing wrong."
In January, Joyce agreed to pay nearly $5,000 for using campaign funds to pay for his son's 2014 high school graduation party.
The state Office of Campaign and Political Finance said at the time Joyce used campaign funds for personal expenses and failed to disclose campaign finance activity or keep detailed records.
Joyce said at the time that there was "no finding of wrongdoing on my part."
Joyce recently said he will not seek re-election.
