Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival Underway

The 16th annual Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival is underway this weekend, with this year's theme being the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Artists from all over the world are hoping to wow spectators with their incredible sand sculptures at the festival, which began on Friday and runs through Sunday.

Food trucks, vendors, amusement games and fireworks are on hand for the event, which is free to enter. Officials in Revere expect upwards of 1 million people to attend, in line with last year's total.

Anyone planning on headed to Revere Beach is encouraged to take public transportation.
