Rob Gronkowski to Return in 2018

Patriots superstar Rob Gronkowski will be returning to the team for the 2018 season, he announced Tuesday on Instagram.

"I met with coach today and informed him I will be back for the 2018 season with the Pats," Gronkowski wrote in the post. "I have been working out, staying in shape and feel great. Looking forward to another championship run."

According to ESPN, Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus said that the meeting with Patriots coach Bill Belichick was "very positive and Rob is committed."

This announcment ends months of speculation that Gronkowski may retire following Super Bowl LII. There were rumors that he may leave the team to pursue an acting career or a career in professional wrestling.

Until now, Gronkowski has been very reluctant to commit to returning to the Patriots.

Gronkowski, who turns 29 next month, has had a history of health problems during his career which caused some to think that he may possibly retire.

The All-Pro has scored 77 touchdowns in his 8-year career and has been to 5 Pro Bowls.
