Rob Gronkowski's Agent Provides Timetable for Patriots Star's NFL Future

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's future in the NFL is uncertain, but his agent Drew Rosenhaus gave an idea Tuesday of when his client could make a decision on whether to retire or play another season.

Here's what Rosenhaus said on ESPN's "NFL Live."

The next couple of weeks would give the Patriots time before the 2019 NFL Draft, which begins April 25 in Nashville, to decide on their top offseason priorities. If Gronkowski decides to retire -- and reports throughout the season suggested he'd consider it -- then the Patriots could look to draft a tight end in the first round.

Although, even if Gronk comes back, finding a tight end of the future likely would remain high up on New England's offseason to-do list.

Gronkowski tallied 47 receptions for 682 yards and three touchdowns in the 2018 regular season. He also missed three games to injury and hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2011. There's no question the 29-year-old tight end still is a top-tier player at his position, though, and that was evident in the playoffs when he excelled as a blocker and pass-catcher.

In fact, his catch on the Patriots' go-ahead touchdown drive in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams was arguably the team's most important play of the season.
