Questions are mounting in Rockland, Massachusetts where the town administrator has been placed on paid leave as the town investigates "serious allegations regarding potential misconduct.”
No information has been released regarding the nature of the allegations but the Board of Selectmen confirmed that Allan Chiocca was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an independent investigation into the allegations.
The Board held a closed session meeting Tuesday night that lasted more than 30 minutes.
Town counsel for Rockland released a statement following the Selectmen’s meeting, saying in part, “While these allegations are upsetting, the Town of Rockland is fortunate to have professional and dedicated department managers and staff in place that will ensure that there is no disruption in service to our residents.”
The allegations will be investigated by Regina Ryan, Esq. of Discrimination and Harassment Solutions, LLC, who will report back to the Board with findings and recommendations.
“Once the Board receives that report, they will determine what action, if any, is appropriate under the circumstances,” town counsel said.
The statement went on to say that the Board of Selectmen will have no further comment until the investigation is completed.
