Showers, Thunderstorms for Some Ahead of Warmer Temperatures

There will be some partial clearing overnight in central and southern New England with thunderstorms in northern New England.

Temperatures were below average through the day on Tuesday.

We are expecting a significant uptick in temperature tomorrow. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s. Humidity levels will also increase during the day.

It's possible that we could see showers and thunderstorms develop during the afternoon along a cold front. That cold front will help usher in cooler, less humid air during the day on Thursday. Showers are possible along the coast first thing Thursday morning.

We will close out the work week with sunshine and temperatures, cool in the mid 60s. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s by Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, showers will be possible, but they should clear out by Sunday. Right now, Sunday is looking like the pick of the weekend.

It appears that the following week we will be undergoing a pattern change. Temperatures look warmer, in fact, some signals are pointing at sustained warmth for the second half of September. Stay tuned!
