Snappy Ramen in Somerville's Davis Square Looking to Move to Former iYo Bistro Space

A ramen spot in Somerville may be moving to a nearby space that had been home to another dining spot.

Eater Boston is reporting (via Cambridge Day) that Snappy Ramen on Highland Avenue is hoping to relocate to a larger space on Elm Street, taking over the site where iYo Bistro had been. Snappy Ramen - which had once been called Snappy Sushi - would have the potential for much more seating in the new space, as iYo had a capacity of 68 while Snappy Ramen's current space only has seating for a couple of dozen, according to Cambridge Day. The Somerville licensing commission is expected to look into the request in July.

iYo Bistro also rebranded before closing for good last fall; it had formerly been called iYO Cafe and had a bit more of a focus on froyo, while the bistro expanded its menu to include grill items.

The current address for Snappy Ramen is 420 Highland Avenue while the iYO space is at 234 Elm Street.
