Snow Shower Precedes Brief Warm-Up

Our morning commute may be a little slow due to damp and slippery roads, especially untreated surfaces.

A warm front pushes temperatures above freezing today. But the warmer air is preceded by occasional snow, enough to coat the ground up to an inch or two early this morning.

As the day goes on, temperatures warm above 32 degrees for just about all of New England with a few scattered rain or snow showers left over by this afternoon.

With partial sunshine developing, high temperatures will be in the 30s to low 40s. Wind from the southwest 15 to 20 mph.

Low-pressure tracks across Ontario and Quebec tomorrow, pushing a cold front through early with snow, or rain changing to snow before ending on the coast. Another slight coating is possible.

High temperatures tomorrow are cooling during the day, from the 30s to the 20s south, and 20s to teens north. We'll have increasing sunshine and wind from the northwest gusting past 30 mph adding an extra chill. It will be windy and cold tomorrow night, low temperature near 0 degrees north, to the teens south.

High-pressure brings brief sunshine early Saturday, followed by increasing clouds and some light snow possible at night. High temperatures will be in the 20s, falling to the teens at night.

It will be mostly cloudy Sunday with a weak front stalled over New England. That front will become the track of an ocean storm that develops Sunday night and Monday.

High temperatures will be in the 30s on Sunday, holding steady at night, as snow possibly becomes heavy by early Monday.

Low pressure cracks just south of Cape Cod Monday with snow heavy at times. That may change to rain near the shore and possibly changing back to snow before ending. High temperature in the 20s, except for 30s at the coast. Wind from the northeast may gust past 30 mph. But we are not seeing as astronomically high tide, so flooding is not a major concern. However. there will likely be another round of coastal erosion.

It will be Windy and colder Monday night, then we may have a quiet Tuesday, before the next system Tuesday night with more snow possibly mixed rain coast into early Wednesday. Then we may do it again Thursday into Friday.

Add them all up, we have potential couple feet of snow for ski country, an icy mess near the shore, over the next 7 to 10 days.
