New England

Soggy Start to Easter Weekend

Waves of rain continue to work through New England, falling heavily at times. Rivers also continue to rise, increasing the risk of flooding.

A swath of 1-2 inches of rain will fall in parts of Connecticut, Western and Central Massachusetts, along with much of Northern New England. A bit less will fall closer to the coast. Mild, muggy air also remains in places with a gusty southerly wind. Highs will be in the 60s to around 70.

Skies stay cloudy for most tonight, with temperatures dropping into the 50s as showers continue to slide closer to the coast.

Easter starts dull in many cases, with some scattered morning showers, but peeks of sun will develop during the afternoon as more and more of us dry out from west to east. Temperatures will reach the 50s and 60s.

Early next week stays somewhat unsettled, with scattered showers Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. These will be typical April showers, and temperatures during that time stay above average.
