Subject of Manhunt Captured in Methuen, Massachusetts

A man wanted for questioning in relation to a homicide in Concord, New Hampshire was captured in Methuen, Massachusetts early Sunday morning.

Joseph King Hanright, 29, was arrested without incident at 1:30 a.m. and is charged with being a fugitive from justice. He is also charged with using a stolen vehicle, interference with a police officer, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police and resisting arrest.

No other charges related to the stabbing death of 64-year-old Marshall John Vellenueve are pending at this time.

Hanright was the subject of a manhunt in Methuen on Saturday which prompted the areas of Swan and Prospect streets to be shut down.

Hanright had last been seen in the Methuen area with a stolen car, reportedly hiding in some bushes with a woman who was aprehended by police. Witnesses say that Hanright took off from there.

Hanright is due in court Monday morning.
