Good news from the weather department -- we get another sunny day Thursday! This marks two days in a row when we get sunshine, a rather rare treat for New England lately.
Somewhat colder air moved in Wednesday night with high pressure from Canada. Thursday starts off with the temperature in the 30s and 40s, rising to the 40s north and 50s south.
Not too much wind is in place but there is plenty of sunshine. It's going to be a nice day.
It’s clear and freezing overnight, with temperatures cooling to the 30s and low 40s early Friday as the clouds fill the sky. Low pressure will be strengthening as it approaches our south coast in the afternoon. It will come with a mixture of rain, sleet, and snow developing late in the day and more so by evening.
A wintry mix in central New England will change quickly to rain, but there may be a few inches of snow in the mountains before that happens.
Heavy rain and gale force wind at night, temperatures holding in the 30s and 40s. An inch or two of rain is possible, resulting in minor street flooding. We’ve had so much rain lately, it does not take much to cause flooding.

Then, much like last Saturday, strengthening low-pressure moving in southeastern Canada will result in strong winds as the sky clears Saturday afternoon. We may, once again, see winds gusting past 50 mph as colder air rushes in.
Rain will end as snow in the mountains with a few more inches possible. Otherwise, the day becomes partly sunny with a temperature falling from near 50 degrees in the morning to closer to 40 degrees in the afternoon, with the wind chill going well below freezing.

Sunday appears to be the pick of the weekend with sunshine in a high temperature in the 30s north, 40 south, with much less wind.
Clouds return on Monday as of yet another storm comes up the coast, with a wintry mix possible here Monday night into Tuesday. This is a colder storm and may feature accumulating snow in the hills of central New England, as well as the mountains.
Rain may even end as snow near the shore later Tuesday and early Wednesday. An early winter chill is forecast for the middle of next week. A hard freeze each night.
