Suspect in Fatal House Party Shooting Pleads Not Guilty

A 22-year-old Worcester, Massachusetts, man has pleaded not guilty in connection with a fatal shooting at a March after-hours house party.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that Angel Ortiz-Santos was arraigned Wednesday on charges of murder, assault and battery with a firearm and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was held without bail.

Ortiz-Santos was charged with killing 27-year-old Christian Omar Puello-Rosado at a party March 22.

A 28-year-old woman also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Defense attorney Eduardo Masferrer says his client denies the allegations.

Police also announced that a second suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Shakira Hiraldo-Zayas is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on weapons and accessory charges. She is being held on $50,000 bail.
