Suspect in Fatal Park Shooting Heads to Court

The suspect in a fatal shooting in a New Bedford, Massachusetts, park is scheduled to appear in court.

The Bristol district attorney's office says 18-year-old Syrelle Grace of Taunton faces arraignment Monday.

Grace faces a murder charge in connection with the shooting last Thursday of 19-year-old Marcel Francois in Harrington Park. Police responding to 911 calls found Francois in the park suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The park has basketball courts and a children's play area but the shooting occurred late at night.

Authorities did not disclose a possible motive for the shooting.

It could not immediately be determined if Grace has a lawyer.
