It looks like a Mexican restaurant is on its way to Boston, and it will be moving into the space where a location of a group of burger spots had been.
According to a Twitter post from @sit4aspell, Taqueria El Barrio is opening in the former UBurger space by the BU West Campus, with the Commonwealth Avenue storefront showing a "coming soon" sign for the place. A Twitter page for the eatery is now up as well, though no tweets have been posted as of yet and a search online does not give any hints as to who might be behind the place. As soon as we get more information on Taqueria El Barrio, we will post an update here.
UBurger closed its outlet by BU West last October, as its lease expired and they decided not to renew it. (Locations in Kenmore Square, Northeastern University, and Andover remain in operation.)
