Taxi Driver Reportedly Stabbed in Worcester

A taxi driver was reportedly stabbed in the neck on Monday afternoon in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Police said they arrived in the area of Edward Street at approximately 3:10 p.m. and found the victim, a 54-year-old driver, bleeding from his neck.

Officers spoke with witnesses, who allegedly said an unknown male had been struggling with the driver and that a knife was involved. The suspect was a passenger in the car. He suddenly exited the cab and tried to remove the victim from the front seat.

Officers confirmed the victim had been stabbed in the neck during the altercation.

The suspect was described as a thin, 5'10" male with a dark complexion, wearing a black jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt. He fled on foot toward Eastern Avenue area.

The was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
