    The Stitch House hosts a variety of crafting classes like sewing and knitting.  Try their Crochet 101 class where you’l learn art of crocheting!  The class takes place on Wednesday from 6pm-8pm. To learn more visit here!

    It’s the 25th Anniversary – Charbo’s Run –   This 5 mile road race that starts at 11am from Florian Hall on Sunday, March 24th. Mark S. Charbonnier, Dorchester native and Massachusetts state trooper, was shot and killed in the line of duty on On September 2, 1994.  A road race was started in his memory back in 1995.  After a 15 year hiatus, the road race is back to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his death.  You can register here!

    The heat is on

    It’s the 13th Annual Dorchester Chili Cook-Off.  On Sunday, March 24th head to the IBEW Hall and get ready to taste the heat!  More than 20 participants including restaurants, civic associations and local organization share their pots of chili and vie for the coveted Best Chili in Dorchester! In addition to delicious chili, enjoy live entertainment, games and prizes.  All proceeds benefit the Dorchester Day Parade! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here! 

    Let’s Escape to the Tropics

    Escape to the Tropics at Franklin Park Zoo! Put on your best luau gear as you dance and limbo your way through the Tropical Forest with friends! Watch the ring-tail lemurs as they discover tropical themed enrichment in their decorated exhibit, and don’t miss special opportunities to meet some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. Join Zoo staff to learn more about the free-flight birds, including scarlet ibis, yellow-billed storks, hadada ibis and more! This is a 21+ event and includes one drink ticket, appetizers and a cash beer and wine bar. Western lowland gorillas, pygmy hippopotamus, and a Linne’s two-toed sloth are just a few of the animals that call the 72 degree Tropical Forest home.TICKETS: The Wild Things member price is $25.
