Tom Brady Set Tone for AFC Championship Week With Legendary Quote

Tom Brady seems to be a bit more fired up for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs compared to recent playoff runs.

The New England Patriots quarterback gave a candid interview after last weekend's AFC Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Chargers where he admitted to CBS' Tracy Wolfson that he hears some of the criticism hurled against him and the team.

Well, the five-time Super Bowl champion set the tone this week by walking into the practice facility and calling himself "the baddest (expletive) on the planet." This story was told to NFL Media's Mike Giardi by a Patriots staffer. Watch Giardi explain in the tweet below.

Yes, it sounds like Brady definitely is ready to go for Sunday's AFC title game clash in Kansas City, and he'll need to give an excellent performance to beat a Chiefs team that dominates at home.

KC went 7-1 at Arrowhead Stadium this season (not including their convincing AFC Divisional Round win against the Indianapolis Colts) and hasn't finished with a regular-season home record worse than 6-2 since 2013. Brady and the Patriots haven't won an AFC Championship Game on the road since the 2004 season.

However, judging by this Brady quote and his pre-game hype video, among other factors, this could be the game where Brady ends his team's road struggles and punches the Patriots' ticket to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.
