"Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi is heading to MIT -- this time as a visiting scholar.
The celebrity host starts her appointment on Friday to discuss women's health and gynecology diseases at the university's Open Endoscopy Forum, MIT announced.
Lakshmi has been outspoken in the past about women's health, including how her own struggle with endometriosis has affected her life.
"I believe advocating for targeted research, education, and increased awareness around women's health issues is critical," the Emmy-nominated host said in a statement.
In addition to working with the Center for Gynepathology Research, Lakshmi will tour MIT's Center for Microbiome Informatics and Therapeutics and discuss food and nutrition with students studying the human body's gut microbiome.
