Tractor-Trailer Crash Shuts Down Route 146 South in Millbury

A tractor-trailer and four other vehicles were involved in a crash Thursday afternoon that shut down the southbound side of Route 146 in Millbury, Massachusetts.

No one suffered serious injuries when the tractor-trailer jacknifed near Exit 8, with the other vehicles losing control. The crash happened around 3:45 p.m.

A northbound lane reopened around 5:15 p.m., but traffic was diverted at Exit 10 on the southbound side through the evening.

Driver Michelle Clairborne was one of many who saw their commute time at least double.

"It's almost two hours now that the traffic has just been backed up bumper to bumper," she said.

According to state police, about 150 gallons of fuel spilled. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

All four lanes are expected to be back open by the morning commute.
