Truck Crashes Into Dunkin' Donuts

A Dunkin' Donuts is closed after a tractor trailer crashed into it Monday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., police and firefighters in Chelsea, Massachusetts, were called to the Dunkin' Donuts at 276 Beacham St.

The truck could be seen up against the store after the crash. It hit a parked car before striking the building.

Deputy Fire Chief John Quatieri says the driver may have had a medical emergency and likely lost consciousness before the crash.

He regained consciousness on the way to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The impact of the crash tore a diesel fuel tank under the truck, spilling about 25 gallons of fuel.

The building was evacuated as a precaution. A building inspector has ordered the store to remain closed until a more thorough inspection is made.

For security guards who work in a small building a few feet away, all of this happened a bit too close for comfort.
