A man who was wanted in connection with a violent home invasion and kidnapping an elderly man in Massachusetts before fleeing in Connecticut has been captured by authorities in Florida.

Twenty-four-year-old Julian Field was arrested without incident at a gas station in the Lower Keys on Wednesday night by members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, authorities said.

The Bedford man is currently in a Florida jail pending extradition to Massachusetts, where he'll be arraigned on multiple charges, including armed home invasion, kidnapping and armed assault on a person 60 years of age or older.

Authorities say the victim, a Concord man, called for help at 3:45 a.m. Monday saying that hours earlier, a man broke into his home and held him at knifepoint. The man, identified as Field, forced the victim to drive to various locations in western Massachusetts and southern Connecticut until about midnight, when Field got out of the victim's car in New Haven, Connecticut, according to police.

The victim then drove back to his home in Concord and called police. He was not seriously hurt.

Police said Field had been wanted by Bedford police earlier Sunday in connection with a disturbance.

Officers found a knife in the victim's vehicle but said Field still should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities in Florida said they received a tip from the FBI on Wednesday that Field was likely in the Lower Keys, and provided a description of the car he was likely driving - an older black Nissan Altima with New Jersey tags. Field was arrested within hours of the sheriff's department receiving the tip.

It's unclear when Field will be extradited back to Massachusetts or if he has an attorney.
