Eat:
Landmark Public House will open its doors on Sunday, June 3rd at 11am for a day of good old-fashioned fun! The back parking lot will be transformed into a patio complete with tables, draft beer service, lawn games like corn hole and giant Jenga. There will be live music outside starting at 4pm with performer Justin Beech and a DJ playing music inside. Landmark is also hosting its 1st Annual Dot Day Hot Dog Eating Contest! Prizes will be awarded to the the top three finishers: $500 dollars to first, a Yeti Cooler to second, and a blue tooth vinyl record player for 3rd. Hot Dog Contest starts at 5. Winos and Dinos! Raise your glass to Franklin Park Zoo’s fifth annual wine-tasting event on Saturday, June 2nd from 5pm-7:30pm! Throughout the evening, guests have the opportunity to sample wines while strolling among the animals in the Zoo’s signature Tropical Forest Pavilion. Here, guests can see western lowland gorillas, pygmy hippo, ring-tailed-lemurs, a giant anteater and many other fascinating species. Wander off the beaten path on a prehistoric journey through time in Franklin Park Zoo’s all-new immersive experience, Destination Dino! You’ll come face-to-face with colossal creatures from the past, from the towering Tyrannosaurus Rex to the emu-like Citipati. Do:
Participate in the 2018 Dorchester Day Parade Chief Marshal Dinner! An evening to celebrate the 2018 Chief Marshal Edzo Kelly and honor the 2018 Mayor of Dorchester. Cocktails will be served at 6pm and dinner will be served at 7pm. To purchase tickets please call the Dorchester Day Parade Committee at (857) 756-3675. Tickets not available at the door.

It’s the 39th Annual Ashmont Hill Yard Sale. On Saturday, June 2nd from 9am-2pm plan on shopping dozens of households wares! Shoppers are likely to find everything from potted plants to toys, furniture to books, computers to collectables, and more, all at clean-out-the-attic/basement/carriage house prices. Walk through the neighborhood to enjoy the Victorian architecture and lush gardens that distinguish this charming pocket of Dorchester; every participating house will have maps showing all the selling locations.The sale takes place rain or shine. Take the MBTA Red Line to Ashmont; by car, enter the neighborhood from Welles Avenue, Ashmont or Roslin streets. Teddy Bear Drive! Donate a new or gently loved small to medium teddy bear or plush animal for a special teddy bear drive to provide Boston EMS ambulances with teddy bears so children who are riding in the ambulances will get comfort in their time of need. You can drop off to South Boston and Dorchester Branches of East Boston Savings Bank. The drive will be going through June 9th.

Run:
Lace up your sneakers! Register for the Project D.E.E.P & Blarney Stone Dorchester Day 5K. Race starts and ends at the Blarney Stone on Sunday, June 3rd 12:30pm start. Registration begins at 11am. You can also register online! Cookout immediately following!
