Two Weston, Massachusetts schools were subject to reported threats, according to state police.
A bomb squad was requested Tuesday to assist in investigating a threat made to Weston High School. Weston police requested the additional assistance from state police at approximately 10:45 a.m.
NBC10 Boston's Sky Ranger helicopter was over the scene, where multiple units responded. At least one officer and a K-9 were seen assessing the area.
Police confirm The Rivers School was also targeted in what was deemed as a hoax. As a result, the school is closed Tuesday as authorities continue thier investigation on the threat.
Steve Porter, media relations for The Rivers School, said the threats were made Monday night via Instagram and other social media sites. He said it seems a student's account was hacked and the threats were posted on his profile.
Authorities did not detail what the threats were but said they do not believe they are credible.
The school said on its website that all classes, sports and other events scheduled for Tuesday have been canceled as a precaution.
