The St. Patrick's Day Breakfast is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., but the live broadcast will begin at 10. It got its start over a century ago and has grown into a major political gathering over the years.

The lineup for 118th annual breakfast includes many of the state's most prominent leaders, including Gov. Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. It will be hosted by state Sen. Nick Collins at the Flynn Cruiseport at 1 Black Falcon Avenue in South Boston.

The festivities continue after the breakfast with the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the city’s most Irish neighborhood, South Boston, starting at 1 p.m. at Broadway Station.

Live coverage of the parade begins at 12:30 p.m.

The parade is organized by the Allied War Veterans' Council of South Boston, and is listed as the second largest in the country, drawing between 600,000 and 1 million people each year.
