Weather Forecast: Storms Early, Sun Later

Wednesday night: A period of showers and thunder, possibly a strong storm, humid. Lows in the 60s. Thursday: Early thunder, humid, then increasing sun. Highs in the 70s.

    (Published Wednesday, June 5, 2019)

An isolated shower or storm will be possible this evening, but the main event won't be until overnight. After 9 p.m., more widespread showers and storms move into New England. Overnight storms may wake you up with thunder, lightning, heavy rain and possibly small hail or a damaging wind gust.

The storms move through west to east, arriving across eastern New England by daybreak Thursday. A cold front will slowly move through and linger across the south coast Thursday morning, keeping a chance for showers or storms in for early Thursday.

We gradually dry off and cool a bit as the system pulls away. Stay tuned to the NBC10 Boston First Alert weather team for updates on any watches or warnings overnight.

We remain warm and humid overnight with lows in the 60s, 50s north. The humidity doesn't break until late afternoon on Thursday and highs reach the 70s across most of New England.

We continue to dry off for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s with low humidity. Humidity increases a tad by Sunday night into Monday, and highs will be in the low 80s inland, 70s on the coast both days.

The 10-day forecast continues to show warm and near normal temperatures with an unsettled weather pattern next week. Although a couple of waves of rain and storms will pass by as potential coastal lows, but this uncertain.
