85-Year-Old Woman Smashes Car Into Garage in Raynham

A woman in Raynham suffered minor injuries when she backed her car into a detached garage Tuesday morning.

When rescuers arrived to the home on Center Street, they found the car wedged into one of the bays of the two-car garage that was 30 feet away from the home.

The 85-year-old woman was initially stuck but was able to get out after shelving units were taken out of the garage.

Investigators say that the woman was backing down the driveway when she angled the car to avoid a pickup truck that was parked in front of the garage. She reversed, then accelerated through the garage door and became stuck.

The woman was taken to Morton Hospital with minor injuries. The car and the garage had significant damage.

The investigation is ongoing.
