Worcester Police Seek Man in Connection With Fatal Stabbing

Authorities in Worcester are searching for a man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 34-year-old woman Wednesday night.

Worcester police said Thursday they were looking to speak with Thomas Bergstrom, 36, after they found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds at a home on Lapierre Street late Wednesday.

The woman received medical help from officers before she was taken to an area hospital, where she died shortly after arriving.

Details on what led up to the stabbing were not immediately clear.

No arrests have been made, according to police. Investigators were seen going in and out of the brick house all morning. Police were also seen outside a home next door.

Bergstrom was previously charged with assault and aggravated rape in a separate case in December.

Neighbors told NBC10 Boston they are concerned for their safety.

"We never used to lock our doors, and I can't get over that. Like, it was never even a concern or a thought for us," said Ethan Lafleur.

"It's scary," added Lynn Peiczarka. "It's not common in this neighborhood at all. There isn't even really much noise in this neighborhood, let alone crime."

Anyone with information on the deadly stabbing is encouraged to contact the Worcester Police Detective Bureau at 508-799-8651.
