Woman Issued Vehicle Charges in Crash That Killed Bicyclist

The victim was 41-year-old Patrick Bettens, a correctional officer

A New Hampshire woman has been charged with misdemeanors and driving violations in connection with a crash that killed a correctional officer who was riding his bicycle.

Police said 41-year-old Patrick Bettens, of Concord, was traveling in the city when a car struck his rear tire in September, causing him to fall and be struck by the vehicle. He later died at a hospital.

On Tuesday, police arrested 41-year-old Jessica Warren, of Concord, on misdemeanor vehicular assault and driving after her license was suspended. She also was issued two traffic violations, for following too closely and driving outside the yellow line.

She's scheduled to be in court April 1. It wasn't immediately known if she had a lawyer and a number couldn't be found for her.
