Police Release New Images in Investigation Into Body Found in Burning Car at Cemetery

Police in Massachusetts are releasing a new clue in an ongoing investigation into a body found in a burning car in a Worcester cemetery.

Worcester police have released surveillance images of a 2004 red/maroon Buick LeSabre and are asking anyone who may have seen it in the city between Monday night and Tuesday morning to call detectives.

Investigators say the car may have had all of its windows down, including near Hope Cemetery, where the grisly discovery was made on Tuesday morning by firefighters.

Authorities have not released an identity of the body; however, police previously said they know who owns the car in which the body was found.

John Dirsa, whose son is buried at the cemetery, told NBC Boston on Tuesday that the incident is highly unusual.

"Today, with the way the forensics are and stuff, I can't imagine whoever did this will get away with it," he said.

Anyone who recognizes the sedan in the surveillance image is asked to call Worcester detectives at 508-799-8641.
