Students of Harvard Public Schools got the day off today, thanks to a water main break.

Residents in Harvard, Massachusetts were urged not to use the town's tap water after a water main break early Sunday morning.

A boil water order has been issued by the department of public works. The water tank is slowly being refilled.

"You may have some water, but it will be very limited and could have low water pressure," Tim Kilhart, with the Harvard Water Department, said.

A distracted driving incident led to a crash into a fire hydrant, according to a post on the police department's Facebook page. The area is closed off until further notice, police said.

The fire department will provide drinking water to the residents affected, according to Kilhart. The boil water notice will be in effect for at least three days.
