A Massachusetts man was recently arrested for berating a Barnstable police officer at a traffic stop and then allegedly making a social post calling out the officer, saying he would like to see him, “get it next,” referring to recently slain police officers.
According to police, David Luna, 48, of Barnstable, was pulled over by Barnstable police for failing to yield to an ambulance at approximately 12:45 p.m. on July 17. During the stop, Luna exited his vehicle against the officer’s direction and began a verbal tirade of expletives towards the officer. Another officer responded to the scene and upon receiving a citation, Luna sat in his car and continued to berate the police.
Later that day, Barnstable police were made aware of a social media posting, allegedly made by Luna, in which he complained about the motor vehicle stop and called out the officer saying he would like to see him “get it next”, referring to the two recent murders of Yarmouth Police Sgt. Sean Gannon and Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna.
Luna was charged with intimidation of a witness, disorderly conduct, and threat to commit a crime where during his July 19 arraignment, authorities said he verbally accosted the Barnstable police prosecutor.
On July 23, additional charges were added stemming from Luna’s actions during the arraignment. He was ordered held without bail until his next court date in August.
