A man and a woman authorities say stabbed two people during a carjacking in Connecticut, and led police on a chase that ended in Massachusetts, have been held after pleading not guilty.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that Christopher Harding was held on $100,000 bail on charges including three counts of assault with intent to murder at his arraignment Monday in Massachusetts. Celine Cousineau was held on $10,000 bail on charges including receiving a stolen vehicle.
Prosecutors say the Killingly, Connecticut, couple crashed a stolen vehicle last Thursday, stole a second vehicle and stabbed the two occupants. Authorities say they led police on a chase to Worcester, Massachusetts, where they were apprehended.
Cousineau's lawyer says his client is a victim who is battered and coerced by Harding. Harding's attorney sought lower bail.
