Boston Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Stabbing

Gerald Lenzel Bowens, 25, of Malden, was arrested and will be charged with manslaughter

A suspect was arrested over the weekend in connection with a fatal stabbing earlier in the week, Boston police said.

Gerald Lenzel Bowens, 25, of Malden, was arrested and will be charged with manslaughter after being interviewed by Boston police Saturday night as part of their ongoing investigation into the stabbing death of Timothy Walton, 32, of Roxbury.

Just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call for a person stabbed in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street. Walton was found on scene suffering from stab wounds, and he was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Walton and his attacker, alleged by police to be Bowens, were involved in an altercation before the suspect fled on a bicycle.

Bowens is expected to be arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
