Assaggio in North End Closed for Renovations and Now Owned by Frank DePasquale

It looks like a longtime Italian dining spot in the North End of Boston is closed for renovations--and it is apparently now part of a growing restaurant empire in the neighborhood.

According to a source, Assaggio on Prince Street is temporarily closed, with a check online on the place indicating that it is now owned by Frank DePasquale and DePasquale Ventures, which operates Bricco, Mare Oyster Bar, Trattoria Il Panino, Bricco Panetteria, Bricco Salumeria and Pasta Shoppe, Quattro, Gigi Gelateria, Scene, and Aqua Pazza. It is not known what might be happening to Assaggio at this point in time; we have reached out to other sources to find out more, so stay tuned for updates.

Assaggio, which first opened more than 20 years ago, is a two-level restaurant known in part for its classic Italian-American dishes.

The address for Assaggio is 29 Prince Street, Boston, MA, 02113. The website for DePasquale Ventures can be found at http://www.depasqualeventures.com/
