Mass. School Informs Parents About Asst. Principal Arrest

Parents of students at a school in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, reportedly are learning that an assistant principal, who is currently on leave, was arrested in a prostitution sting.

According to WJAR, Aaron Viera was arrested back in October after he allegedly agreed to pay an undercover police officer $60 for sex.

Viera is the assistant principal at the Beckwith Middle School in Rehoboth.

WJAR reports the state dropped the misdemeanor charge against Viera after he took a sexual education course.

Parents tell WJAR they initially read about the arrest in a New Bedford newspaper listing or heard rumors on social media. The Dighton-Rehoboth school district sent parents an e-mail about the incident last week.

Viera reportedly is currently on leave from the school. It is unclear if it is paid or unpaid.
