Atlantic Beer Garden in Boston's Seaport District Has Closed

by Marc Hurwitz

A restaurant and sports bar on the Boston waterfront has shut down after being in business for approximately nine years.

According to a source, Atlantic Beer Garden in the city's Seaport District is no longer in operation, with a check on its Facebook page indicating that it closed its doors a couple of weeks ago. The dining and drinking spot first opened in the fall of 2008, taking over the space where Eastern Pier II had once been.

A couple of years ago, we reported that the building housing Atlantic Beer Garden and the adjacent Whiskey Priest could possibly be torn down to make way for a residential tower. It appears that this is indeed happening, as a page on the bldup.com site shows that the project has received approval and it could break ground sometime this fall. (It is not yet known if/when Whiskey Priest might close.)

The address for the now-closed Atlantic Beer Garden was 146 Seaport Boulevard, Boston, MA, 02210.
