Attempted Sexual Assault at Northeastern Under Investigation

Students, faculty and employees at Northeastern University have received a warning about an attempted sexual assault inside a school building.

A student was attacked just before 1 p.m. Thursday, school officials said.

"I thought it was bizarre," said student Joanna Berg. "Generally, on campus, I feel pretty safe, so it was rather alarming to realize that I might not be."

The university did not reveal which building the attack happened in.

"I thought it was kind of weird they never said what building," said Berg. "I thought that would have been helpful information."

It's unknown if the attacker is a student, but anyone can access most academic buildings without an ID.

"I'm not too surprised," said student Christa Kitcher. "Anyone can go into any classroom, really."

The suspect was last seen leaving campus on the Orange Line.
