"You worry about the coyotes that might come out but never finding a dead body," Marie Barone, a Lynn resident, said.
Authorities identified the body as Lopez-Elbanks on Saturday morning. His body was burned so badly, according to officials, that it took extra time to properly identify him.
A makeshift memorial at the base of a burnt tree has been established, with a boquet of flowers and a bottle of Hennessey's current marking the ground in Lopez-Elbanks' memory.
The grisly discovery left Lynn residents shocked and disturbed.
"This is probably one of the worst things I've heard from in Lynn for a long time," one resident said.
Lopez-Elbanks' family has been notified of his death.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of his death. Police are describing his death as "suspicious."
