Beautiful Weather Stretching Through Weekend, Threat of Heat Wave After

There are no weather watches or warnings in effect in New England on Thursday and there great news is that this nice weather will last into the weekend.

High pressure over the eastern United States cleaned out all the heat and humidity all the way to Georgia and Texas. The front that caused all the severe weather is still cutting across Florida, but it’s well off the East Coast as far as New England is concerned. That means a quiet pattern for several days!

Wednesday night was comfortable with the low in the 50s and now we have plenty of sunshine Thursday morning, with temperatures rising quickly to the 70s. There is a weak trough of low pressure and upper level disturbance creating a few instability clouds with a slight chance for a shower Thursday. Even the slight chance for a brief clap of thunder.

For most of us, however, it’s just a nice day with a high temperature close to 80 degrees. A light wind means it’s an on-shore breeze with temperatures in the 70s at the beach. A sunburn factor at the beach Thursday is 10 out of 10. Humidity stays down Wednesday night with any evening clouds evaporating. It will be mostly clear with a low temperature in the 50s south, 40s north.

Beautiful weather continues Friday, but we start to see a rebound of wind from the southwest on the backside of high-pressure. That means it will be a little bit more humid and warmer, with sunshine and a high temperature in the 80s.

Not much change for the weekend, although there is more instability in the atmosphere so each morning we have sunshine with building fair-weather clouds, and just a chance for a shower or thunderstorm each afternoon.

The weather becomes more active next week with temperatures back to near 90 degrees and the threat for more significant thunderstorms especially Tuesday through Thursday.
