Blue Shirt Cafe in Somerville's Davis Square Is Closing

by Marc Hurwitz

A popular Somerville cafe that has been in business for more than 20 years is shutting down.

According to several sources, Blue Shirt Cafe in Davis Square is getting ready to close, with a poster on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page and another poster on the Davis Square Facebook group page both mentioning this as well. A call placed to the Highland Avenue eatery confirms this, saying that its last day will be Sunday, July 29.

Blue Shirt Cafe first opened in 1997 (according to a page on the Manta site), with the dining spot being known in part for its breakfast dishes, sandwiches, smoothies, and fresh-squeezed juice options.

The address for this soon-to-close cafe in Davis Square is: Blue Shirt Cafe, 424 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA, 02144. Its website can be found at http://www.blueshirtcafedavis.com/
