Body Found by Boy Scouts Identified as 79-Year-Old Man

Human remains discovered by a Boy Scout troop last month in Bedford, Massachusetts, have been identified as those of a 79-year-old homeless man.

The deceased person, found May 13 near the Carlisle Street boat ramp on the Concord River, has been identified as Richard Kandrotas, who has been living in Cambridge.

Police responded to the scene after the Boy Scout troop reported seeing something along the embankment where they were picking up trash.

The death was, and still is, considered suspicious. The cause of death remains under investigation.
