Body Found in Lake Winnipesaukee in NH Identified

Authorities in New Hampshire believe a man found dead in Lake Winnipesaukee had gone swimming with friends.

The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol says 34-year-old Benjamin Whitehall, of Peterborough, New Hampshire, had arrived with his friends at Braun Bay on Saturday, an area of the lake that's popular for swimming. When his friends were ready to leave that night, they couldn't find him. They thought he had left with another boater.

The next morning, Whitehall's friends found some of his personal items, untouched, and returned to the bay to search for him. When they arrived, the patrol had received an emergency call from a paddle boarder who had found the body and were on the scene.

Authorities don't suspect foul play.
