Body Found in Woods of Franklin Park

Police in Boston are investigating after a person's body was found in the woods of Franklin Park.

Boston Police swarmed the Franklin Park William J. Devine Golf Course after the body was found feet away around 5 p.m. Initial reports indicated the body was found on fire but one officer Sunday indicated he could not confirm that.

An Associated Press report said the body was discovered by firefighters responding to a brush fire outside the clubhouse.

Authorities roped off much of the area during the death investigation.

"Definitely still in shock," said golfer Ken Garofalo. "We actually ended up driving through some of it, not knowing it was a serious incident."

Investigators took photos in the parking lot. Police have not said whether they believe the death to be suspicious.

"It's not every day that you come out of 18 and find a body at the end of the hole," Garofalo said.
